Petition

On December 4, 2007, the Friends of the Animals presented the following petition to the Iredell County Commissioners. We would like to thank the over 4,000 people who agreed with our requests and signed the petition.

• That the Iredell County Animal Shelter increases the hours that it is open to the public effective immediately.
  
  
• That the Iredell County Animal Shelter strives to increase adoptions by keeping adoption kennels filled at all times and continue to work with private rescue groups.
  
  
• That the Iredell County Animal Shelter employees scan all animals for microchips and document a minimum of three times effective immediately.
  
  
• That the Iredell County Animal Shelter employees strictly adhere to state cleaning regulations effective immediately.
  
  
• That the Iredell County Animal Shelter works with friends of the animals to hire or train euthanasia technicians to eliminate the use of carbon monoxide gas chamber within six months.
